Lively Hope

Hope is a word I probably use 100 times a day. Lately, I’ve been asking myself what hope really is, and what that truth means to me? Especially in these recent uncertain times.

You and I often use “HOPE” to express something we wish will happen, but in the pit of our stomach, we really doubt it. Maybe that is where so many of us struggle when we hear the phrase, “Put your hope in the Lord”. We see Him through this lens where we really hope He’s going to be who He says He is and do what He’s said He’ll do, but we prepare our hearts to depend on ourselves because in the pit of our stomach, we aren’t really sure we trust Him with our expectations.

As a writer, I think words are really important, and I headed to the dictionary for a definition. I know…I’m a nerd.

Hope: A feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. A feeling of trust.

True hope is deeply rooted in TRUST. This can be hard when we’ve walked through pain, betrayal, and disappointment. But, the good news is that hope is something that GROWS as we use it.

So how do we even start? I’m going to talk about several ways to help hope grow on my radio show tonight.
